The fifty dollar tub of gel medium I bought is actually gesso. And it's now open, so I can't take it back. And worse, I can't work on the paintings I was doing until I can buy gel medium. And that will cost me another $50.

I am such a fucking idiot

:) Have I mentioned that I love you? LOL

Gesso is like a thick, white paint. It's the fine art equivalent of primer. Gel medium is this thick stuff that dries clear. It's the stuff that gives my paintings that texture. It goes on thick and holds its shape.

It's not a huge crisis, except for the fact it will take years for me to use all that gesso up. I can pop over to the Loomis store on Spadina after work tomorrow and just pick some medium up

Or, you could just gesso each and every surface within your reach and paint everything!
