Playing catch up

Haven't updated in a while, so figured I should play a bit of catch up. I took a couple of sick days this week. I managed to catch one of the cold/flu viruses, which isn't all that strange considering the time of year and the fact that I travel on TTC every day. It didn't turn out to be that bad, but I figured, I have sick days, I might as well use them. Just rested and sacked out on the couch in front of my new TV.
Which is the other change in my life. When I was talking to my dad last week, we were talking about big TVs and such and the subject of me planning eventually replacing my old hand me down TV with an LCD. He offered me some money for Christmas to up what I could afford, so after work on Friday,
johnnytobicoke volunteered to play pack mule for me and I went shopping and came home with a 26" Sony Bravia LCD TV. I had done some checking and it had the features I need and was $200 off. I'm VERY happy with it. Makes watching DVDs so much fun.
Worked on the three paintings I have on the go on the weekend. The iridescent colours from Pebeo that I found have an amazing depth of colour and look amazing against a black and grey background. The other one I'm working on is bright blue against a chocolate brown, which is probably going to look totally dated in a couple of months, (it's a very trendy combo) but the colours look great together. The last one I just have the rich, ox-blood colour. Am working on the design for the top layers.
I did finally tell the guy I LIKE that I actually LIKE him. His response was sweet, if not what I wanted to hear. Apparently something that I considered a "hey, we can work around it" he considers a deal breaker. But he was flattered and he does want friendship, so hopefully we can translate this into some good hanging out time. He did point out that his friendships (and mine to, come to think of it) last longer than romances anyway. But really, who hears "there's this really good reason we can't date but I think you're great" and hears something other than " "You're not attractive" ;)
Oh, well. NEXT!!!
