Good day yesterday. My friend, Deb, took me out to do portraits in the sun by the river. We shot for about an hour and the ones she showed me on the camera's screen looked great! Will see the rest soon and will post some after that.
Then we went to see Inception, which I loved. Kind of a dream world, Mission: Impossible, caper story and it was shot beautifully. Smart script and good performances, though Ellen Page was a bit underused. Tom Hardy, however, is sex on legs. Must dig out those full frontal shots from Bronson when I get home. And Joseph Gordon Levitt had depth and real commitment to his role. And I didn't even hate Leonardo DiCaprio, which I tend to. And I don't know what people are talking about when they say the don't get the film or can't remember what level of dream they're on. The distinctions seemed pretty clear to me and I loved how each affected the other.
Had a nice bit of a talk with my sister. When I got home, she was watching the copy of The Losers that I bought, so I sat and watched the end with her. Then we had one of those good, aimless talks about food and Dancing with the Stars and stuff like that. She felt like her old self, her real self, and I could feel some of the ghosts in the house flying off out the windows. Will be nice to get some disconnected time at the lake this weekend.
Today, walked another mile to the mall from my sister's place, had some amazingly good pad thai downtown and am killing time with Starbucks WiFi. Dad arrives later and tomorrow is the lake.
The peace has kicked in. It's nice.
