Doctors today

Seeing oncologist and orthopaedic surgeon.

And I'm suddenly very nervous. No real reason, just that my life is going well and I feel like I'm in a good place.

Which is exactly the kind of time when the other shoe dropped and something terrible happened.

I have no reason to think anything is going to happen, but that old habit is hard to break

Nervous sounds perfectly natural. Most people I know are nervous about going to any doctor and don't even mention dentist.

I'm having a gynecological ultrasound on Thursday to find out if there's something growing inside me that shouldn't be there (isn't a baby; I'm sterilized). I'm nervous, too.
