I was assigned the letter M
- Men. Duh. I love everything about them: the way they walk, talk, smell. Tall ones, short ones, especially the furry ones. Special passion for redheads, Indian men and dark skinned mediterranean types. I can't look at a man on the street without wondering what he looks like naked.
- Movies. All kinds. I love watching them at home, going to movie theatres. Some of my best memories are of going to Saturday matinees in my home town. There's something magical about theatres, I think.
- Music. I love all kinds. I have absolutely no talent for it, beyond singing in the shower, but I absorb new music like a sponge and am always on the lookout for new bands or singers to obsess over. Love British Pop, Acid Jazz, good Electronica, the soul baring singer/songwriter type. Love to make mixed CDs for people to turn them onto music they might not know about.
- Maupin. Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City books and the work he has published subsequently to them are deserted island books for me. I read my first one back in the early eighties when my public library had a special table of gay lit on display. It was a pivotal moment for me, being able to stand there openly checking out the books and not being afraid; to know that there were books for and by people like me. He will always be associated with that in my mind.
- Massages. Both the talented amateur and the professional kind. Been ages since I've had one. I used to have a masseur in Saskatoon who was staggeringly hot. Salt and pepper haired, middle aged, but so hot. The massage itself was never sexual for me, and I never got turned on while he was doing it, but it helped me relax knowing it was him.
- Mochaccino. My coffee drink of choice, iced or hot. It's my litmus test for any coffee joint I hang out in.
- Metallic paint. I love using metallic and iridescent paints in my paintings. The way they shimmer in the changing light really accentuates the textures I use. And the artificiality of them also feels right in the artificial, abstract way I paint.
- Masturbation. Really, what else needs to be said?
- Mother. I miss her a lot. I am so much her son.
- Metal Men. One of my favourite comics from back in the day, when Walt Simonson drew them. Also in the new series by Duncan Rouleau. Fun, goofy, retro shape changing robots, each made out of a specific metal (Gold, Platinum, Lead, Iron, Mercury, Tin and Copper) Does it get any more fun than that??

on 2008-09-05 02:38 am (UTC)The last massage I had was through my former job. The masseuse told me I got cancer because I didn;t love myself ;) Then she pulled a little hand mirror out and held it in front of my face and said "Say it. Say it." It was too funny to be offended by it
