This one started out in colours, but just never came together. So I whited the whole thing out with gesso and titanium white, then hit the texture with iridescent white and a hint of interference blue. Like it much better now

Quite interesting. Did you just paint over the painter's tape and leave it or did you paint and then remove. Kind of looks like a build up of gesso at the tape's edge in places.

I use a heavy body acrylic medium that makes the paint really thick. I tape the design, then trowel it over top, then remove the tape while it's wet.

Ah ok, I could not tell if the tape remained or not since it kind of looks like it was merely painted over and left. :-)

Yeah, I specifically left ragged tape ends in this one, to see how it would look :)

I wrote a (really bad) story called "Blue Ruin" after the hair color mentioned in the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Now I want to rename it "Interference Blue." Maybe instead of worrying about the title, I should just write a better story.
