I feel so alone right now. Like I'm trapped behind glass. Cut off. I can't do all the work. The Catch-22. If I don't do the work and try to connect, I end up by myself and feeling like this. But, ultimately, if you have to do all the work to maintain, then what kind of friendship is it? Is it even worth saving?

Ugh! I find myself in a similar hole right now. Maybe it's time for a new phase in life. Although I think at some point, when you can let go - you move past the feeling alone - and move on.

Yeah, I'm working on making peace with it. Have been for a long time. ;) Not always very good at it
