Clarification on my last post...
Jan. 10th, 2008 11:42 amI meant no disrespect to my New Age friends. I respect other's beliefs as I expect my own to be respected and didn't mean to imply otherwise.
Personally, I don't believe that the right crystal will solve my problems. I have no idea if I had past lives and if I did, I don't think their relevant to this life. I believe in inhabiting my current existence fully, not obsessing over whether I was Cleopatra in a former life. I don't believe Self Help, touchy feely books work. If they did, there wouldn't be any more of them, and yet more and more and more of them are published every day.
I believe in decency and kindness. I believe in giving love and receiving it freely and wholeheartedly. I believe in facing your issues head on and taking the steps to make changes, no matter how hard they be, rather than hiding behind gods or goddesses, demons, fairies or whatever you feel is manifesting your behaviour. Take ownership and do everything you can to change if that is what you want.
I also fully acknowledge that my understanding and perception of these things is my own, is the theory that I have built that best fits the evidence I have seen and felt in the world. I could very easily be wrong. So I do my best to respect what people tell me they believe.
My issue with said author was that she paid no attention to the types of books I liked to read. She just recommended her own books because she wanted to drum up some sales.
I don't know why I felt compelled to write this, but I I lurve my New Age friends and don't want them to think otherwise.
