Back from happy not-working vacation land

chronicpaintBack at my desk and it only took a half day at my desk to suck all the life and joy out of my heart ;)
I didn't do much. I kept thinking I should paint or write or something, but mostly I just watched Battlestar Galactica again from beginning to end. And kind of moped a bit. Feeling old and tired and friendless a bit.
I'm kind of tired of being disappointed by people. I remember once, many moons ago, I went to a tarot reader in Saskatoon and she told me something along the lines of seeing potential in people and ending up being disappointed when they don't live up to it. Though I probably shouldn't bitch. I've probably disappointed many in my time. I just was supposed to hear from a few people to do things during the vaykay and never did. Truth be told, depending on the next week or so, I think it may be time to weed the garden and just accept that some friendships just haven't connected the way I wanted them to. When you're the only one making the overtures and trying to initiate contact, eventually you just have to wake up and smell the apathy, you know?
By Saturday morning, though, I woke up feeling recharged a bit, and managed to get my @$$ off the couch and get out of the house. It felt great to get out and get some sun. I went out to the Beach and picked up a few things. I got some groceries (lentils, whole wheat pasta, nice healthy stuff) I need to make more of a habit of this, so I don't end up eating out so much.
In all, it ended up being a good rest and I came back into the office rested and feeling pretty good :)
Only other things to report are that Torchwood has been really good (latest episodes Adrift and Fragments were awesome. Adrift managed in one short scene to take you to one emotional place, then another and then another in a heartbreaking way. Fragments told us how Jack, Ianto, Tosh and Owen were recruited into Torchwood and set up what could be a slam bam season finale. Though rumour has it that two of the characters aren't going to make it out alive. The finale, Exit Wounds, airs this Friday, followed by the return of Doctor Who on Saturday!! Squeeee. Download city, baby.
Add the season premiere of BSG on Friday and you have a happy, geeked out Stephen!
