There are days I think I'd be a better editor than a writer. I drink heavily on those days and try to forget them. *g* Actually, there are even more days I think I'd be happier as an editor, and those alarm me.
About love... I think we can't necessarily control that we love someone (biochemistry in the meat sacks!), but we sure as f*** can control what we do about those feelings. Love ain't a carte blanche permission slip (she says, totally messin' with the metaphors) for doing Whatever We Want. And too many folks, I think, use love as an excuse to be abused, to abuse, to be miserable, to ignore their wits and better sense, etc. We give an awful lot of cultural privilege to that emotion.
