Wrote for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and managed to get almost 2000 words on Chapter Six, bringing the cumulative word count to 24,255

And then managed to hit delete rather than copy when I tried to transfer it from the memory stick to the drive of my Acer Aspire One. Which is Linux based, so I had no idea where the equivalent of the "recycle bin" was. Luckily, I didn't panic. Googled to try and figure it out, then just clicked menus until I found it. And restored the file, and then copied it properly.

It's ticking along nicely. Checked it against my outline and I've added two chapters to the length. Renumbered the outline and am just going to ride the spurting creative juices where ever they lead.

Then, last night, I sent the first five chapters to my friend, Kim and my friend, Suzanne for some feedback on how it's shaping up.

If anyone is interested in reading it and giving me some response in terms of how it's shaping up, I would be most grateful. It's first draft, so there are already some things that need fixing, but I could use a bit of "is it hanging together and making sense so far" kind of feedback.

Thx

I'd read...

And WHEW! on not losing a bunch of work. I lost a short novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo in 2003. I was copying it to a different hard drive. When it finished, the copy didn't work, and the original was gone. Also, the backup floppy I had refused to load. So sad to see one's work go POOF! like that.

I lost about 20,000 words of revised copy on the last novel I was working on before I jumped ship for this one. Had all the original chapters, but the revised words were gone. So awful.

Send me an email to chronicpaint at gmail and I'll shoot you the chapters when I get home

Completely unrelated reply! I don't know how much you like house music, but this song has been running around my head for the past couple of days. See what you think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3igweoXlDZo
